Minimal Impact has a comprehensive preventative maintenance program ensuring that our heavy equipment and vehicles are properly maintained so that our workers are not endangered. Our safe work practices and policies require regular inspections of vehicles, tools, machines and equipment before their use. Minimal Impact Employees are required to complete walk around inspections, pre-starts, and log entries prior to any work.

When working in environmentally sensitive areas, Minimal Impact has developed and utilizes our EFS – Environmental Fluid Systems program to minimize the potential for impact. This system utilizes non hydro carbon based fluids.

Our preventive maintenance program documents the systematic care and protection of tools, equipment, machines and vehicles in order to keep them in a safe, usable condition, limit downtime and extend productivity. We must always be aware that maintenance tasks themselves are potentially hazardous and can result in injury. Our successful maintenance program is: well organized and scheduled, controls hazards, defines operational procedures, and ensures frontline communications with our mechanics and field supervisors.

In addition to the above, Minimal Impact utilizes a GPS Monitoring System. With this system, Minimal Impact monitors vehicle and equipment utilization for real time maintenance scheduling and planning, non compliances/ driving infractions, and locations. Minimal Impact reduces its carbon footprint by scrutinizing unnecessary idling time and fuel consumption.
